Political Factors in Decision Making and Implications for HRDUniversity of Minnesota The problem and the solution. Despite the vast range of theoretical conceptualizations and empirical studies, little is considered about the impacts of organizational political factors on decision making. The dominant perspective views decision making as an individual psychological process and regards social and political factors as irrelevant. Viewing organizational decision making as a social and political process, this article proposes an integrative model of decision making and draws implications for human resource development practice.
