The problem and the solution. Given the many organizational problems human resource development is expected to help solve and the many tools offered by economics, foundational direction for action can have high utility. This article concludes this issue by discussing the opportunity and challenges facing human resource development scholars and practitioners in integrating economics foundations into its theory building, research, and practice along with the potential gains.
